Kelly Lebwith has worked in the highest echelons of commercial art and fashion, from her discovery by the famed artist and editor, Alexander Liberman, to an early mentorship by Diana Vreeland at the Costume Institute, which eventually led to Kelly's consulting and commissioned work with Interior Designers on both Commercial and Residential projects as well as custom small and large scale home furnishings projects.
Kelly’s art and illustration have adorned custom textiles for Paul Smith UK/NY and an original loungewear line she designed and sold in the USA, UK and Paris.
After her early successes in textiles, she continued to consult for the industry, developing talent and concepts.
Kelly then launched the award-winning Souls, a custom, monogrammed vegan footwear brand, made-in-USA and featured in Oprah’s O List, Vogue, GQ, In Style, House & Garden and Robb Report.
She also contributed as both a stylist and art director for print and big budget TV commercials.
Kelly has been commissioned for special design projects by major hotels and brands including The Peninsula and Ian Schrager Hotel Group, Sunset Tower, Lodge at Sea Island, Francis Ford Coppola, Oprah, and Snoop Dogg.
After a mid career health challenge, Kelly reevaluated her creative focus and returned to a more personal, intimate artistic journey in painting and mixed media, organically exploring themes grounded in nature and energy.
From her early work to the present, Kelly Lebwith’s art interrogates the tension between the search for safety, solace and beauty versus trauma and internal conflict.
The art itself expresses the unwinding and release of trauma, through the awakened heart of the artist and her reborn voice.
